A complementary partnership
Stockholders Dan and Larona Farnum and Dan and Kendra Johnson formed Western Living Concepts in 1998 with the development and construction of Timber Ridge Eureka. Larona, as Administrator of the new facility, was able to establish a culture of superior care and diversity of choice for residents. This standard would become core to the company’s foundation and the creation of future facilities.
Larona today serves as Executive Director, still working daily in the facilities but also as a visionary - planning and designing for the future of the company. President Dan Johnson is a 20-year business founder and owner in Humboldt County. Starting his construction company, Danco Builders, in 1986, Dan continued developing new businesses. Now, in addition to WLC’s offer of Assisted Living Management and Development, The Danco Group of Companies offers commercial and residential construction, market rate and affordable housing development, and property management services.
This strategic configuration provides a base of support in the form of professional services to WLC and its facilities. Land acquisition, development and construction services, as well as legal, accounting, and human resources are of a higher caliber due to this affiliation.
